Springing
Power of Attorney
What is a Springing Power of Attorney?
A Springing Power of Attorney is a legal document that grants someone, known as the "agent" or "attorney-in-fact," the authority to act on behalf of another person, referred to as the "principal," but with a specific triggering event. Unlike a standard power of attorney, which is effective immediately upon signing, a springing power of attorney "springs" into effect only under certain conditions or circumstances.
